What’s new in Mizan
Every version of Mizan, from the very first to today. What was added, redesigned and fixed, one release at a time.
Mizan is coming to Android
- Everything the iPhone app does, with the same account and the same data.
- “Next prayer” and “Verse of the day” Home Screen widgets.
A new look
- A new art direction: custom-drawn icons, sand and gold tones and finer Arabic calligraphy, right down to the widgets.
- A redesigned Qibla: a clearer, more precise compass pointing to the Kaaba.
- More control over friends: you can block a user, and adding friends by code is safer.
- A button to reset your dhikr counter.
- Reminders that work offline, prayer times that follow you when you travel and corrected Mawaqit dates.
- Better layout on small screens, right-aligned Arabic verses and adhkar, and improved accessibility.
A redesigned home
- A home screen that shows at a glance which prayers are left and how long until the next one.
- Private period tracking: your streaks are paused and, if you wish, your prayers are validated discreetly.
- Fairer statistics: more accurate streaks, averages and completion rates, including excused days.
- A cleaner Quran: the French and English translations no longer contain stray footnote numbers.
- Isha times after midnight, more reliable reminders, missing translations and other small fixes.
Mizan at a glance
- Home Screen widgets: your next prayer and a daily Quran verse, without opening the app.
- The same at a glance on your Lock Screen.
- Friend pins, account switching and notifications are more consistent.
Fixes
- Corrected default calculation method and Mawaqit time zone.
- The prayer day now turns over at 2 a.m. everywhere, dhikr included.
- More reliable notifications, streaks that carry across months and an app icon badge that clears.
- Mizan can now ask you to update when an important version requires it.
Far more than prayer tracking
- Five tabs: Prayers, Stats, Quran, Dhikr and Friends.
- A light or dark design that follows your iPhone.
- Personal statistics: streaks, week and month views, a calendar and completion per prayer.
- The complete Quran: 114 surahs and 6,236 verses in Arabic, transliteration and translation, with search, reading progress and a verse of the day.
- Dhikr: a post-prayer counter, morning and evening adhkar and reminders.
- Qibla: a compass to the Kaaba that tells you when you are aligned.
- Period tracking for female profiles.
- Optional Adhan for prayer reminders and a new welcome for first-time users.
A visual redesign
- The interface adopts the Liquid Glass design of iOS 26.
- A large card for the next prayer, in the colours of its sky, with a countdown.
- The Arabic names of the five prayers.
- A celebration for each prayer and for a complete day, with haptic feedback.
- A progress ring around each friend and a ⋯ menu on their cards.
- Reorganised settings, with your friend code and its QR code in “Add a friend”.
The week at a glance
- Prayer times for the next seven days, with a day selector.
- Pin friends with a long press, on more compact cards.
- The prayer day turns over at 2 a.m. instead of midnight, so a late Isha still counts.
- Friend notifications are grouped.
- Correct prayer times on iPhones set to the 12-hour clock.
First release
- Validate your five daily prayers with a single tap.
- Prayer times from your location and the calculation method of your choice, or from your mosque via Mawaqit.
- A reminder at the time of each prayer.
- Add the people close to you by code or QR code, follow their prayers of the day and send them a nudge.
- Streaks that reward consistency, and a profile photo.
- Support Mizan with a tip or the Supporter subscription, and its badge.
- Sign in with Apple, Google or email, in English and French.
