Delete your Mizan account

Last updated: 29 October 2026

This page explains how to delete your account in Mizan, the prayer tracking app published by Wassim Kanze on Google Play and the App Store, and what happens to your data. You can request deletion from the app or, if you no longer have access to it, by email: you do not need to reinstall the app.

1. From the app (fastest)

  • Open Mizan and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  • In the “Prayers” tab, tap the settings icon at the top left.
  • Tap “Delete my account” at the bottom of the screen, then confirm with “Delete”.
  • If you signed up with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm: this revokes Mizan’s access to your Apple ID.

Deletion is immediate and permanent and needs an internet connection. The steps are the same on Android and iPhone.

2. Without access to the app

  • Email contact@wassimkanze.dev from the email address of your Mizan account, with the subject “Mizan account deletion”.
  • Tell us how you sign in (email, Google or Apple) and, if you know it, your friend code.
  • To protect your account, we reply to that address to confirm the request before deleting anything.
  • We delete the account within 30 days of your confirmation and let you know by email.

If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email”, write from the address that receives the emails Apple forwards to you.

3. Before you delete: your subscription

  • Deleting your account does not cancel the supporter subscription: cancel it first.
  • On Android: Google Play app → your profile picture → “Payments & subscriptions” → “Subscriptions” → Mizan → “Cancel”. In Mizan, the “Manage subscription” link on the “Support Mizan” screen opens the same page.
  • On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Mizan.
  • Tips and subscription periods already paid are not refunded because you delete your account. Refunds follow Google Play or App Store rules.

4. Data we delete

  • Your sign-in account: email address, identifier, link with Google or Apple.
  • Your profile: first name, last name, display name, friend code, profile photo (or the link to your Google account photo), supporter status.
  • Your history of completed prayers.
  • Your friends, the friend requests you sent and received, shared streaks and your blocked list.
  • The reports you made and the reports about you.
  • Your notification identifiers (push tokens) and the anti-abuse counters tied to your account.
  • Period tracking discreet validations: the schedule and its history stored on our server.
  • On the device where you delete the account: this account’s data stored by the app (period history, account preferences, prayers waiting to be sent, cached images), widgets and scheduled reminders.

Everything is removed from our servers immediately when you delete from the app, and within the time stated in point 2 for an email request, except for the backups described below.

5. Data that may remain

  • Backups: our database is backed up every day, and each backup is deleted automatically after 14 days. Your data may therefore remain in them for at most 14 days after deletion. These backups are only used to restore the service after an incident.
  • On your other devices: if the account was open on another phone, the data the app kept there (including your period history, which is never sent to our servers) stays until you uninstall Mizan or clear its data. Do so on every device concerned.
  • On the device you used: a technical copy of the app’s database may remain in the app’s private storage until you uninstall it. It is never synced again.
  • With other users: if someone blocked you, their block list keeps your technical identifier and the date of the block, with no name or photo. Your friends’ app may also briefly keep your name and photo in its cache until it next refreshes.
  • Purchases: Google Play and the App Store keep your transaction history under their own rules. We never receive payment data.
  • Technical logs: our host (Google Firebase and Google Cloud) keeps technical request logs for at most 30 days. They contain neither your name nor your prayers.
  • Prayer time services: to compute prayer times, the app sends your coordinates to the Aladhan service (api.aladhan.com), or the identifier of your chosen mosque to Mawaqit, without any account identifier. We cannot erase what these services may have kept from their requests.
  • Google and Apple accounts: they are not deleted. Mizan’s access to your Apple ID is revoked. For Google, you can remove Mizan from the apps connected to your Google Account.
  • Email requests: your message and our reply are kept for 1 year as proof that the request was handled.
